PASSENGER QUARTERS
levels 250 - 300 of the usc tranquility reachable by the blue lifts ❝ Comprising a considerable portion of the ship, these are the residential decks and complexes. There are several kitchens and common areas on each deck, in addition to luxury appliances such as holodecks, swimming pools, gardens, and media libraries. ❞ ▒ C A B I N S ![]() Each floor of the passenger deck is lined with identical, windowless, 20' x 17' cabins. They comfortably fit two twin size beds, two bureau desks, and two individual closets. Each room has individual atmosphere control that is only accessible from a control panel on the inside next to the door. Lights, gravity, and temperature can all be controlled manually or by voice command, and like every console aboard the ship, an audio-visual interface is provided. Sliding doors grant access to each room, which can be locked and unlocked from inside or outside of the room. Each character's number grants them access to their room. Empty rooms that are unassigned remain unlocked until a passenger number is programmed into the interior console. ▒ F A C I L I T I E S Accompanying the cabins, the passenger decks are also home to closets, laundry facilities, recreational rooms and luxury appliances. Unlike the rest of the ship, the lights in the corridors of the passenger quarters are constantly on, so it's impossible to tell what time of day it is unless you look at a clock. ➥ SANITATION ![]() ![]() Each level has multiple closets that contain cleaning supplies, including products like bleach, gloves, cloths and hovercraft dollies to carry it all. At one time, it seems there had been a housekeeping service to tidy up alongside the mechanical sanitation service, but like the rest of the crew they disappeared before everyone arrived. Now, only the small discs move through the corridors to pick up after those on board. Massive laundromats are on every floor and are fully automatic. ➥ KITCHENS ![]() ![]() There are a two kitchens on each floor, and they contain all expected utilities and appliances. Non-perishable food (including coffee) can be found in the cupboards, and any perishables picked up at space stations or collected from the Oxygen Garden can be found in the refrigeration units. All food is hand made, as there are no replicators on board, but there is plenty of space for big meals to be prepared and enough space in each kitchen to comfortable fit at least fifty chefs. The dishmachine requires loading, but will run automatically and will transfer dishes back to the cupboards on it's own. ➥ HOLODECKS ![]() There are multiple holodecks on each floor, every one containing their own programmable console. Programs provided include landscapes and events from the new Solar System with a smattering of archaic details from Old Earth. The option to edit new holograms is there using details loaded to the databanks. While the holograms are believable and impressive, they are not interactive, beyond the feel of an artificial sun or the spray of the ocean. All climate controls can be manipulated on these decks, including gravity. ➥ REC ROOMS ![]() ![]() In addition to basic living provisions, there are extensive fitness facilities on board. Separate from the holodecks, there are gymnasiums that offer space and an assortment of equipment including, but not limited to: treadmills, sparring equipment, and weights. Olympic sized swimming pools are attached to the gymnasiums, with regulation swimsuits and towels provided. ![]() ![]() The Tranquility is also outfitted with numerous entertainment venues. Though decorations are sparse, and it seems they have been underused as of late, the bars and lounges remain fully operational and fully stocked with a variety of spirits. At least one such lounge seems to have been refurbished to serve as a night club, seemingly geared toward a more lively crowd. For those with a quieter disposition, various recreational rooms come equipped with a handful of social games including pool and darts. ![]() Media libraries are similarly accessible. Each wall contains rows of digital records that include literary works and music of the time, all of which are available for perusal on datapads. There are holographic consoles that can be used to research the selection, but will grant access to little else. Close examination of the works provided, however, will leave you with the impression that something is missing. Outside of these points of interest, there also remain the common congregation areas that include seating and wide holographic screens, and board rooms that range from cabin to ballroom in size. |
