There were several reasons we assumed that your setting was a product of White Wolf's World of Darkness:
◆ Your use of terminology that, while not strictly Vampire: The Masquerade or Vampire: The Requiem exclusive, tends to be used to the same purpose in those games, such as: The Curse, blood-bound, a vampire's bloodline, kindred, Sire, Hunters, etc. ◆ Your separation of vampires into groups of differing characteristics, drawbacks and abilities (which in World of Darkness are "clans") that include Nosferatu (Nosferatu), Strigoi (Strigoi), and the Moroi (Moroi, though their description reminded us of Malkavian.) ◆ World of Darkness Nosferatu traditionally live in the sewers and collect sewer debris and information. ◆ World of Darkness vampires are able to "spend" their "blood points" (gained from drinking blood) in order to appear more human, digest food, or have sexual intercourse. ◆ World of Darkness vampires are encouraged to travel internationally by "playing dead" or shipping themselves like a corpse. (Though this originated with Stoker.) ◆ World of Darkness vampires go into a frenzy when exposed to open flame. ◆ The blood of World of Darkness vampires has influential properties which is used to "blood bind" servants to do their bidding, but which also makes progeny loyal to their makers and matches a "first drink, love; second drink, obligation; third drink, obsession" pattern. ◆ Most of the known "pop culture" for vampires in the World of Darkness originated in a Hunter experimenting on a vampire's weaknesses and then sharing them with the world. ◆ World of Darkness vampires are only immobilized by a stake through the heart. ◆ World of Darkness vampires gain psychogenic effects from imbibing the blood of supernatural creatures (such as the "high" that comes from drinking the Fae.) ◆ World of Darkness vampires are high-powered in terms of their strength, speed, dexterity, wits, perception, etc. in the same way as you have described in Nao's abilities section. ◆ The mechanics for World of Darkness include a possible merit whereby the vampire gains a stat boost when in their own territory or property. ◆ The mechanics of World of Darkness games often involves taking and committing to a "flaw" in order to get more "points" to spend increasing character's abilities, which we assumed was the explanation for why Nao returning to wearing her weapons in her back increased her abilities.
As you can see, there was enough overlap that all members of the app team that are WoD familiar assumed that was your background. However several aspects of this mythos were cribbed by White Wolf from traditional vampiric myth, and popular culture including Dracula, Lestat, Buffy, etc and we are willing to acknowledge that this may simply be down to mutual influence and inspiration rather than outright plagiarism.
If your character is a World of Darkness OC, then we are happy to discuss which aspects we felt were not in line with that system and mythology. However if (as is becoming clear) your character is not intended to be a World of Darkness OC, then we apologize, and we will not expect you to weed out the similarities.
However we would therefore like an expansion of the "Setting" section to better define some of the terminology used in your application, especially the Nosferatu and the Strigoi, and the properties of "The Curse", and detail what your original setting is like, which in turn should help us see the character as something separate from the World of Darkness universe.
Though we didn't mention this in the original decline due to believing your character was a tabletop creation with the requisite overpowered protagonist "stats", we would also like you to consider that Ataraxion nerfs excessive supernatural abilities to at least half-capacity, and that all of Nao's limitations and weaknesses in her abilities section have caveats, while her powers and advantages do not.
We hope to see a thoroughly revised application if you choose to reapply in the March application period. Thank you!
