NPCs.

N O N - P L A Y E R   C H A R A C T E R S

Previously believed all dead, many of the Tranquility's original crew have emerged from the wreckage of the ship alongside player characters. Trained for the colonization of strange planets and knowledgeable of the tech available in the Tranquility's remains, the crew are valuable advisers, but did not escape from their experiences on the ship unscathed. Many are suffering from psychological trauma, with some more dangerously unstable than others...

The crew of the Tranquility are available to be interacted with on a daily basis at player discretion, with notable incidents or messages being mod-announced. If you have a particular question or idea your character would take to a crew NPC, please fill out the form below and we will give you a framework of the interaction.

NOTABLE NAMES:
■ August Ru
■ Simon Baume

Boarding the Tranquility to loot it some two years ago, the crew of the Scylla knew they were making a very dangerous gamble, but had no idea of how great the cost might be. Having all died in the ensuing battles with those on board, approximately thirty emerged in the wreckage alongside the saved souls of the Tranquility's crew, and spent two months keeping their heads down as the survivors started carving out a way to live on the planet.

Now banding back together, the crew of the Scylla took what resources they needed and set out to make their own camp out in the jungle a fair walk to the north of the main base camp. Understanding that cooperation is everyone's best chance at survival, the crew are willing to work with or trade with anyone willing to venture out to see them, but still hold much of the suspicious nature which had protected them from outsiders back in the Miraxian system - and some might be outright resentful of the people who they blame for their deaths...

IN FUTURE it will be possible for players to apply to play a crew NPC as a Game-Native OC. Please keep your eyes peeled for announcements with further news of this!

PLAYER NAME: Cass
CHARACTER NAME: Kate Bishop
CHARACTER JOURNAL: alsohawkeye
CHARACTER ACTION TAKEN: Kate would like to try to do a survey of the NPC crew (not the Sirius type of survey), to try to get a rough sense of how many are from each department, and to see if she can find Ward and Resnik. She'll also be on the look-out for anybody who seems particularly forthcoming and might be a good candidate for deeper conversations later. This seems like it may be a big project so she will probably enlist a couple other PCs to help, which I'll organize if this is a do-able thing. Thanks!

PLAYER NAME: Dray
CHARACTER NAME: AJ Harris
CHARACTER JOURNAL: [personal profile] hairrands
CHARACTER ACTION TAKEN: AJ has been hanging around the camp much more frequently over the last near month, and chances are good that she'd have stumbled over some of either crew. The Tranquility because she's been working hard at the wall, possibly the Scylla for when they occasionally look to trade/keep tabs on the camp.

She might be abrasive but she's trying to keep her ear to the ground to take advantage of various exploits, so I'm wondering if she'd have heard anything to do with finding or building a working shuttlecraft (or other way to range much further afield), or if either crew is considering going further afield, especially with the crickets and their vague threats.
